Electrical energy is typically measured in "kilowatt-hours."  But it can be difficult to imagine how much energy a kilowatt-hour really is.  This calculator converts kilowatt-hours to lots of other measures of energy use.

STEP 1. Enter the number of kilowatt-hours you are interested in interpreting:

Kilowatt-hours*

STEP 2. Now select the type of conversion you want to make:

*This number could be:

  • the number of kilowatt-hours produced by your solar electric system in the past day, week, month, or year, OR
  • the energy you use each month (this figure will be on your electric bill), OR
  • ANY other amount of energy you are interested in.
